Participation of a team from the Rural Women Development Association in the guidance workshop within the project to enhance the economic situation of young men and women in the West Bank, especially those affected by the Covid 19 pandemic, and within the framework of the emergency social protection project to confront the Corona pandemic (Covid-19) in the West Bank and Gaza, which is implemented by the Palestinian Fund for Employment in partnership with Ministry of Finance and funded by the World Bank.

Within the framework of the project: “Emergency social protection to confront the Corona pandemic (Covid-19) in the West Bank and Gaza,” which is part of the money-for-work project, which is implemented by the Palestinian Fund for Employment in partnership with the Ministry of Finance and funded by the World Bank, and as a continuation of work on implementing the commitments of the Women’s Development Association rural areas towards the partners in the Project Coordination Unit at the Palestinian Ministry of Finance, and as part of a follow-up to the requirements and procedures of the environmental and social standards of the project, the project team at the Rural Women Development Association participated in the guidance workshop that was organized by the Project Coordination Unit in the Ministry of Finance, which included: A number of topics, the most important of which is public safety, occupational health, environmental and social procedures and policies within the project. The implementation and follow-up mechanism of the project was also discussed by the implementing partners with both the Palestinian Employment Fund and the Project Coordination Unit in the Ministry, in addition to dealing with issues of the project’s preparatory period, mechanisms and procedures. pertaining to this period.



Within the preparatory period for the project, a committee was formed by the Project Coordination Unit under the title of the Public Safety and Occupational Health Committee for the project, and later, due to the connection of standards and procedures with the environmental and social standards and procedures of the project, it was agreed that this committee would follow up on all issues related to the project. Subsequently to the formation of the Public Safety and Occupational Health Committee, training was provided to the members and work teams of the implementing institutions on public safety and occupational health procedures, which came with the aim of sharing, disseminating and giving training by the participants, male and female, to the interested groups from the employment incubators and the direct beneficiaries of the employment opportunities. The training material was approved by the project work team at the Rural Women's Development Association in holding trainings for stakeholders including operators, clients and employees benefiting from the project.

And with the start of the contracting process with the beneficiaries of the project at the beginning of September 09, 2022, a training plan and schedule have been identified and worked to include and work to cover all governorates in the West Bank.


Where the trainings were conducted with the participation of 106 out of 134 beneficiaries within the project in the aforementioned sites, in addition to the participation of the project team of coordinators and a number of supervisors in the operating sites and partner institutions of the Rural Women Development Association and the Women's Clubs Department.

Complementary training was also conducted for 23 beneficiaries of employment through the Zoom platform, and this was due to the inability of some individuals to join face-to-face training or to the presence of a number of new contractors within this training, and it is also mentioned that 5 individuals were unable to obtain Training and as part of our commitment, they will be guided and the training material will be shared with them / n and there will be a bilateral discussion with them by the project team at the Rural Women Development Association on topics related to training on public safety, occupational health and environmental and social standards to ensure their completion to follow up their work within their work areas and sites. .



Many topics were presented and addressed within the training on public safety, occupational health, and environmental and social standards and procedures for the project. These titles included public safety and occupational health / concepts and terminology, Palestinian law, duties and responsibilities, analysis and evaluation of risks in the work environment, risks in the work environment, and epidemic diseases / Covid 19 , Requirements for prevention and protection, preparedness for emergencies, care and service facilities, first aid and fire control, guiding and warning signs and their divisions, rules and code of conduct for employees - civil institutions, guides and policies available at the Rural Women Development Association, system of complaints and proposals for the association and the project / Palestinian Employment Fund / Project Coordination Unit - Ministry of Finance.
