Women’s Care Work and Economic Empowerment Pilot Project

RWDS is working on a year-long pilot project that addresses obstacles women face with regards to economic participation, in partnership with PWWSD and with funding from Oxfam Novib. The first component of this project is implementation of Rapid Care Analysis (RCA), a participatory research methodology that seeks to understand how much of their time women spend on unpaid care work. The results are used to create solutions for women that will free up some of their time. The second component of this project is strategic support for four existing RWDS cooperatives in the villages of Wadi Fokin, Juma’in, Burqa and Farkha, including the provision of grants to purchase needed items, trainings to increase the women’s skills, and packaging and marketing support.
