Strengthening Community Responses to Economic and Social Marginalization of Vulnerable Families in Hebron

This 36-month project was designed and is being implemented in coordination with SOS Palestine, SOS Denmark and Danish Palestinian Friendship Association, with funding from CISU/ Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Designed to support the Family Strengthening Program of SOS Palestine, this project aims to address economic and social marginalization and promote mental health in the Hebron area. The target groups are 500 children in 140 families who are at risk of losing parental care, as well as their parents, staff and volunteers from 10 Community Based Organizations (CBOs), primary school teachers. Specifically the project seeks to strengthen the ability of CBOS to respond to the needs of vulnerable families, increase awareness about mental health in the community and encourage the use of appropriate services, and to increase the educational or vocational performance of participating children.

Three RWDS clubs (Samou’, Halhul and Bayt Ula) are participating CBOs and RWDS is responsible for working with CBOs so they can increase their skills and better support vulnerable families, including by providing appropriate services and offering income generating opportunities.
